Where we started

The Visalia Rockettes Jr. Drill Team was organized in 1955 from a Girl Scout troop called Boots and Bridles. Since its inception, Visalia Rockettes has been revered as a top performing Equestrian Drill Team. Equestrian Drill is a descendant of the military formations done by thousands of years of cavalrymen. The club has fielded many Champion Color Guard teams, held the California State Champion Jr. Drill Team title 16 times, and held the prestigious Western States Champion Jr. Drill Team title 17 times.

Where we are now

We are a nonprofit group who fundraises for all competition expenses through various community service projects and appears at various parades and rodeo performances throughout the state of California. The club is open to any young girl, ages 10-18. More than 400 young women have been a part of the Visalia Rockettes and on average, most remain members for five years or more. Many of our current membership are honor students with activities including school band, FFA, soccer, volleyball, and 4-H.

Where we’re going

As a competitive team founded on a culture of connection, our dream is to grow team opportunities for girls all over Tulare County. If you would like to be a part of what’s to come, please contact Drill Master Michelle for more information.
